Not content with the cathedral and the “Tales” now Canterbury is trying to add a 10 mile race to its roll of honours! And why
not, especially when they do it so well! Beautiful scenery – look out for the ice if its really cold though! |
|
Feb
9th (Saturday) |
Brands Hatch Half Marathon |
13.1 Miles |
Always used the excuse that you can never run on a Sunday? Well this race has been
laid on just for the likes of you! Watch out for Druids – we don’t want you spinning off because you took the corner too fast! The
only thing lacking with this race is commentary from Murray Walker – now that would be good! |
|
Feb 10th (Sunday) |
Sidcup
10 % |
10 Miles |
An extremely fast 3 lap race – if you want to set a PB on a 10 miler then look no further than Sidcup! A great chance for
a great time for your PWR Grand Prix score! |
|
Feb 10th (Sunday) |
Dover Mercury Half Marathon |
13.1 Mile |
Don’t fancy
Sidcup and feel that you could do the extra 3.1 miles – well have a go at the Dover Half – a course set deep in the beautiful Kent
country side – who’ll be the first to “see the sea”? |
|
Feb 17th (Sunday) |

Probably the best Half marathon you will ever run – it has every thing from a 6 mile hill
climb at the start to one of the fastest down hill sections of any race, to a fantastic 2 mile flat section at the end along the sea
front – if you only ever run one half marathon during your running life then let it be the Hastings! A PWR Grand Prix Race. |
|
Mar
21st (Friday) |
Folkestone 10 |
10 Miles |
Fancy taking the family out for the day on Good Friday and can’t think of any where to go - why
not pop along to Folkestone and treat them all to a pre Easter egg 10 miler! A really well supported race and it also means you’ve
done your usual Sunday long run two days early and can therefore have a lie in! |
|
Mar 30th (Sunday) |
Kingston
Breakfast Run |
8/16 Miles |
You can choose between either an 8 mile or a 16 mile (i.e. two laps of 8 mile course). Supported by a number
of celebrities in training for the London Marathon. Run along the banks of the Thames and the side of Hampton Court – what a way to

20
Miles |
Another 20 mile race that would fit perfectly into your marathon training schedule. If you don’t fancy the early start for Kingston,
then try for a 9 O’clock start in Worthing! A really good multi lap race which is nice and flat and therefore not too punishing on
the legs at this late stage! |
|
Apr 13th (Sunday) |
Flora London Marathon |
26.2 Miles |
Don’t know much about
this one, but some lady called Paula seems do rather well every time she runs it! Good luck to all of our members running the Flora

be able to walk down stairs the day after! |
