Harris HospisCare was set up in 1984 to provide palliative care to those living with cancer and other life-threatening conditions. The charity provides clinical home care, day care, outpatient, lymphoedema and hospital services to those requiring palliative care across the London Borough of Bromley, 24 hours a day,
7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The specialist team of doctors, nurses, social workers, counsellors and physiotherapists provide a holistic service, offering physical, social and spiritual support to those facing life-threatening illness.

Each situation is different and Harris HospisCare treats everyone as an individual, striving to make their own unique situation better. The charity works hard particularly to support patients in their own home which, for the majority, is where they wish to be cared for.

The care they offer encompasses not just the care of the patient, but extends to their family and friends, giving support and understanding to all those affected.

The Harris Day Hospice is based in Orpington. The charity needs to raise over £2 million each year to continue its service.

All of Harris HospisCare's services are provided to patients free of charge - but the services still have to be paid for, largely through donations and fundraising activities.

Harris HospisCare is appealing to any runners lucky enough to have secured a ballot place for the 2007 Flora London Marathon to consider running and raising funds on their behalf.
